ZSÓFIA GESZTI "We and those others." Conflicts between denominations and religious identity in Tiszabökény (Carpathian Ukraine) This article aims to analyse the forces and processes which can play an integrative role in the life of the inhabitants of a village in the Carpathian Ukraine, Tiszabökény. Among the events and the phenomena determinating the deveryday activities and the mentality of the villagers, the various religious feasts and the different denominations often seem to be of primary importance. The author's first results based on a two-years fieldwork are exposed here, bringing into focus the religious identity, life and practice of the villagers of Tiszabökény as well as the origin and forms of the conflicts which caracterize the relations of two denominations: the Orthodoxes and the Greek Catholics.
