VIII. BRONZE COIN FIND FROM THE FOURTH CENTURY A.D. /Tussla Collection/
VIII. BRONZE COIN FIND FROM THE FOURTH CENTURY A.D. /Tussla Collection/ The Tussla Collection contained coins as well as other archaeological objects. Tivadar Tussla held land around Szőny thus his collection contained archaelogical and numismatic material found there. The collection was scattered after the death of his widow during the l93os, part of it though came to the Archaeological Department of the Hungarian National Museum. The coins listed here are part of this particular part of the collection. The 3522 coins were supposedly a coin find. Most of the coins came to the Numismatic Department stuck together into a mass. Inv. no.: 5/l9 74.1-I439. It is also possible that some coins from other sources were added to this collection, but this means no significant difference; the collection reflects the usual fourth century A.D. coin find composition. The find closes between 398 and 4o8 A.D. possibly./Fig. XIIl/ Division of coins by emperors: AE I - AE 4 AE Dp D An Fol Hfol Cen Hce Mai Vespasian I Hadrian I Sabina I Antoninus Pius 2 Marcus Aurelius 2 Faustina iun.
