In the course of this cemeteries of different periods were destroyed. Zsolt Csalog conducted rescue excavations, which resulted in 21 Middle Bronze Age (Füzesabony Culture), 2 Late Bronze Age (Tumulus Culture), and 2 Celtic graves. According to his estimates at least 50-60 graves were destroyed on this 100 x 100 m area. Thus the rescued, e. g. excavated graves could not have been charted. This is the reason for not knowing the relationship of the 21 graves of the Bodrogszerdahely phase of the Füzesabony Culture, mainly with rich finds, to the two Late Bronze Age burials from a topographical point of view. Grave I. (Sg C) Medium contracted skeleton on it right side in bad condition. Orientation: NE—SW, 303°. Gd: 82 cm. - 1. Mug, yellow, with knots on its rim (Incompl.) H: 24,8, Rp: 18,5, Bp: 10,2 cm (PI. 34. 1/1). 2. Jar, yellow, with knots on its rim (Incompl.) H: ca. 16, Rp: 13 cm (PI. 34. 1/2). 3. Dish, grey (Complete) H: 7,5, Rp: 22, Bp: 8,7 cm (PI. 34. 1/3). 4. Jug, grey, with scored line piles on its neck and shoulder and with four scored knots and oval, plastic pattern on its bulge (Complete) H: 7,8, Rp: 6,5, Bp: 2,7 cm (PI. 34. 1/4). 5. Cup, grey, with bent out rim, thin, undecorated (?) (Fr.). 6-7. Bronze pin, so called sickle-shaped. — One of them over the left collarbone, the other under the left shoulder-bones. — (see PI. 31—342/1—2). 8-9. Bronze bracelet. Grave II. (U D) Grave ditch p: 70 cm. Gd: 120 cm. There was the fragment of a bronze pin among the ashes at the bottom of the urn. — 1. Urn, grey, with four knots on its bulge, thick (Fr.). 2. Bronze piri, the deformed fragment of its stem. C. FERTŐIHALOM (AKASZTÓDOMB) The 12-15 m high sandy hill, roughly N-S, lies 5—600 m away from Ásotthalom, which is known as Fertőhalom (its northern part) and Akasztódomb (its southern part). The northern part of this hill was carried off in the course of floodcontrol works in 1970. Ilona Stanczik excavated 13 Middle Bronze Age (Füzesabony Culture), 4 Late Bronze Age (Tumulus Culture) and 5 Scythian graves in the area where the bulldozers only scraped the surface and the graves were not destroyed. We carried out a small scale authenticating excavation at the 110-120 m long southern part of the hill in 1972. Here we brought to light some Middle Bronze Age (Füzesabony Culture) and 2 Celtic graves. We found a few Late Bronze Age sherds only in the earth of the sections, which implied that the burial center of the Tumulus Culture was at the northern part of this sandy hill. Grave A. (Sg D) Grave ditch L: 235, W: 102 cm. Gd: 165 cm. Orientation: NE - SW, 53°. - 1. Bronze tweezers, cast, its middle part is band-like, the two ends triangular, L: 5 cm (pi. 34. A/1.). 2. Cup, grey, with three large, pressed dots on the shoulder (Rest.) H: 8, Rp: 7,7, Bp: 5 cm (PI. 34. A/2.). Grave B. (Sg D) The skeleton was so disturbed that orientation could not be determined. Gd: 110 cm. 1. Cup, grey, with scored line piles and three scored knots. It has an omphalos at the bottom (Complete) H: 6,5, Rp: 8, Bp: 3 cm (PI. 34. B/l.). Grave C. (U C) Grave ditch p: 75 cm. Gd: 85 cm. - 1. Urn, grey, large, thick, (very Fr.). 2. Dish, brown, with inside profiled rim, rough workmanship. - At the rim of the collapsed urn. - (Fr.) H: ca. 12 cm 3.
