Körmöczi Katalin szerk.: Historical Exhibition of the Hungarian National Museum 3 - From the End of the Turkish Wars to the Millennium - The history of Hungary in the 18th and 19th centuries (Budapest, 2001)

ROOM 14. Endurance, Compromise and Economic Boom "The Repudiation of That Which is Illegal is No Mere Option, But Rather an Obligation" (Ferenc Deák) (Katalin Körmöczi - Edit Haider)

57. Prize medals awarded at exhibitions, 2nd half of the 19th century mink and embellished with frogging woven from metal thread, the dolman made from silk, and the trousers machine-woven from silk thread were produced in 1896, as were the jewelled accessories for the gala dress: the belt, the mente clasp, the plume, the sword, the spurs, and the buttons. Of special interest is the mediaeval page's uniform from the Millennial Procession; this is embellished with the coat of arms of the Liptay family and with velvet appliqué work, and bordered with braiding (Fig. 55). In the royal reception-room there stood a purpose-built armchair made to a design by Ignác Alpár. The conquering ancestors are recalled by a ceremonial shield, embellished with a depiction of the bloodpact and made for the Millennium.
