HALL 3-4 - The Bronze Age (2800-800 B.C.) (Ildikó Szathmári)
39. Bronze hoard from Százhalombatta. 15th century B.C. 12-13. BRONZE HOARDS FROM THE MID-2ND MILLENNIUM B.C. Bronze metallurgy in the Carpathian Basin flourished in the middle third of the 2nd millennium B.C., both as regards the range and the number of the articles produced, as well as the craftsmanship of metalwork. There is ample evidence for a strong social ranking compared to the preceding period, which is reflected also by the appearance of a series of unique weapons and ornaments symbolising rank and power, and by the spectacular increase in the number of bronze and gold hoards.
