Sümegi György: A nagybányai Berger-cukrászda asztallapja

Dömötör: Grove in Storm; 8. Vilmos Perlrott Csaba: Still Life; 9. Dávid Jándi: Self-Portrait; 10. Hugó Mund: Figures; 11. József Klein: Women; 12. Mrs Margit Perlrott, née Gráber: Fruit Pickers; 13. Antal Deli: Harvest; 14. Sándor Szolnay: On the Bridge; 15. István Boldizsár: Nude; 16. Hoffmann: On the Water. It is not possible to say whether the drawings on the table were completed over a short or a long period. From studying the style of the various miniatures and placing them within the oeuvre of the respective artists, the mid19208 seem the most likely date of their origin. Within that period, the year of 1924 stands out in one respect, namely that eleven of the sixteen artists visited Nagybánya that summer. The collection of works presents a mosaique or resume of the artistic ideas of the Nagybánya painters. The one-time innovators, the "neos" (Perlrott, Kmetty), are represented in this ensemble, as are the members of the "third generation": those Expressionists and Cézanne-followers among the Nagybánya artists who moved closest to the Avant-garde movement. The Nagybánya quality of the work is further enhanced by the unequivocally local motifs (the Reformed Church in Hid Street, the hill Kereszthegy, the weekly market).
