Ground-floor - Rooms 1-5

13. Left wing of the former high altar of the church of the Virgin Mary in Liptószentmária. 1450-1460 a two-sided panel painting depicting the legends of St Adalbert and St Benedict of unknown provenance, dated around It "0-80. Given the donor and the iconography of the paintings, the master of the Mosóc altar pictures, known by his initials as "GH". must have been in contact with the extinct art of the altarpiece in Buda. Originally the centre panel of a triptych, the painting of the Holy Trinity also features the coat of arms of the donor, János Ernuszt. the treasurer of King Matthias Corvinus. The representation of the Holy Trinity as the Throne of Mercy under the "heavenly tabernacle" derives from Netherlandish painting as does the interior setting for the Annunciation on the wings.
