CARL OTTO RECHENBERG (1689-1751) One of the most outstanding and famous jurists of his age, he was a professor at Leipzig University from 1711, rector from 1717, and "Ordinarius" of the faculty of law from 1734. In 1735, he became legal councillor of the Saxon court. He was canon and prefect of Merseburg from 1727, and was also the author of several works on law.
