Károly Patkó wins the travel grant of the Szinyei Society. István Szőnyi's Self-Portrait is donated to the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts. Farkas Molnár and Henrik Stefán publish a collection of lithographs illustrating their Italian journey in Bauhaus of Weimar. Vince Korda works at the Artists' Colony of Nagybánya. From the end of this year Ernő Jeges works in Paris until the end of 1924. In November, the art dealing company Auróra Műkereskedelmi Rt. exhibits the works of the new generation of graphic artists, with Szőnyi, Aba-Novák, Derkovits, and Jándi included, at the Exhibition of Hungarian Etchings. A művészet reinkarnációja (The Reincarnation of Art} on the new fields of art, the poster, fresco and cinema in Nyugat, he launches his book series on modern art. Kosztolányi Dezső's novel Néró, a véres költő [Nero the Bloody Poet], Attila József's first volume of poetry, Szépség koldusa (The Beggar of Beauty) and Lőrinc Szabó's volume of poetry Föld, erdő, Isten (Earth, Woods, God) ate published. Several smaller galleries are opened in the course of the year (Helikon, Auróra, Mentor). 1923 In May, Károly Patkó makes a tour of Italy, of Rome in particular, on the Szinyei Society's travel grant he won in the previous year. In the Summer Erzsébet Korb works in Rábakecöl. The Hungarian Etching Society admits Vilmos Aba-Novák to its members. István Szőnyi takes a study trip in Germany (Berlin, Leipzig, Braunschweig, Kassel, Dresden, Nuremberg, Rothenburg, Munich); he paints Zebegény for the first time. The publishers Magyar Műkiadó Rt. publishes its first two catalogues: one featuring 14 etching by István Szőnyi and the other with 8 etching by Vilmos AbaNovák. The Szinyei Society awards the Mihály Zichy Prize of Graphic Art to Nándor Lajos Varga. In June Gyula Derkovits and his wife move to Vienna. In February Alkotás Művészház organises its first exhibition entitled Self-Portrait, which features the graphic compositions of Szőnyi, Aba-Novák, Jándi, and Deli, among others. In March the Ernst Museum organises an exhibition for the students of the ' Academy of Fine Arts in March; exhibitors include: Aba-Novák, Patkó, Varga, Jeges and Paizs Goebel. In June, the National Salon organises the exhibition of the National Society of Hungarian University and College Students. In September, members of the Bicske Artists' Colony present their works at the Ernst Museum's XXVth Group Exhibition. In September, an extensive collection of Korb's compositions are shown at the XXVIth Group Exhibition at the Ernst Museum. In the Christmas season, the Helikon Gallery organises a weeklong exhibition for the new generation of etching artists (among others Aba-Novák, Szőnyi, Patkó, Nándor Lajos Varga, Imre Nagy, Jándi, and Géza Bene) using the graphical material of the publishers Magyar Műkiadó Rt. To counterbalance Nyugat, the literary and art magazine, Napkelet, is launched; its editor-in-chief is Cécile Tormay. The Debrecen University Clinics are opened on September 23. Elizabeth University is opened in Pécs on October 14. The short-lived art magazine Ars Una is launched; the editor-in-chief is Kálmán Pogány. The Alkotás Művészház is opened.
