in the collection. Lajos Gulácsy, who was on therapy here between 1924 and '32, and Waslaw Nijinsky, the Russian avantgárdé ballet dancer, another patient of the institue, have significant pathographic charts in the museum. On the basis of the 18 paintings in the collection art history has recently taken an interest in the lifework of István Pál who was trained in Nagybánya. Besides the naturalistic paintings of Géza Zórád, Gábor Aronson's name is worth mentioning, from whose estate the Hungarian National Gallery transmitted a representative selection to the Lipótmező collection. Exhibitions and publications galore helped Outsider Art earlier excluded from the mainstream of art to find its way to the world famous museums and galleries. Lately in Hungary, too, the works in the collection by non-professionals have received growing attention. Mobilizing the destigmatizing power of art, in addition to promoting tolerance, the museum supports the tendencies washing over the strict boundaries of art and also helps the work of art historians by giving subtler shades to certain lifeworks.
