A fegyvergyűjtemény külön csoportját képezi az a mintegy száz darabos orvvadászfegyver-kollekció, amelyet a századfordulón a főszolgabírói hivatalokból küldtek be. Ezeken a puskákon a korábban ismertetett fegyvertörténet mellett a népi találékonyság legkülönfélébb megnyilvánulásai is (rövidre vágott cső- és puskatus stb.) tanulmányozhatók. Sajnos, gyűjteményünkbe már rongált, illetve hiányos állapotban kerültek be. Ide sorolhatjuk a botfegyvereket is, amelyek abban a korban szintén népszerűek voltak.

The historical development of hunting weapons (firearms) of the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture

The museum has no objects from the most ancient times, i. e. from the time of the muskets, only from the time of the wheel-locked guns. The most complete part of the exhibition is the collection of weapons made at the turn of the 19th-20 th century. From this era several examples of the most characteristic group of oneand more shooter guns are in a condition to be exhibited. The most valuable is the collection of one, two and three-barelled shotguns. The different systems and different calibers are represented. These are displayed according to internationally accepted categories. An interesting group of the collection is the group of hunting weapons donated to the museum by famous persons. At the same time we own guns of poachers, illustrating the creativity of the common man. A smaller part of the collection consists of handguns, carabines, and other firearms not for hunting purposes.
