The theory and practice of Montessori pedagogy in museum pedagogy MÁRTA CSÓK In the introductory chapter the author writes about the changes, public educa­tion underwent in the last decade. She thought it necessary that public educa­tion and museum pedagogy establish close relationship with each other con­cerning theory, practice and methodology. — She presents the process how a considerable reform-pedagogical trend, — Montessori pedagogy — was involved into museum pedagogy in an experimentative way. She modelled a detailed programme of activities on the basis of which the work of children in class 1 and 2 were planned and led by taking into consideration the teachers' suggestions. The author made empirical examinations with the following aim: Can muse­um activities for children be made more efficient when both theory and prac­tice of Monessori pedagogy are used besides the pedagogical methods, having been applied so far. In the relationship of man and nature (plants, animals) i.e. what man „adds" to nature and what he takes away from it, so the questions of prey, farming, making objects, anoimal husbandry are also discussed. Structured series of interviews gives account of the experiences, which teach­ers from the country and Budapest accompaning children draw from the activités.
