Zsolt Miszlay DAMAGES CAUSED TO THE RAILWAYS BY THE RUMANIAN INTERVENTION FOLLOWING WW I, AND PROTECTION OF RAILWAYS BY ARMOURED TRAINS (1918-1919) The present study investigates the damages caused by foreign powers prior to the peace treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920, and the activity of railways using armoured trains for helping Hungarian defense. The population of the occupied territories had to endure series of atrocities, affecting - in the first place - the railway employees on duty in the occupied territories. The occupants abstracted railway equipment and rolling stock in great numbers, and ruined a great part of them. 232
