Események az Országos Műszaki Múzeumban 2005–2006-ban - Lengyelné Kiss Katalin: Megújul az Öntödei Múzeum állandó kiállítása

A kiállításra elkészült az Öntödei Múzeumi Füzetek színes nyomatú új kötete, melyet KOVÁCS LÁSZLÓ írt meg Ganz Ábrahám címmel, valamint egy képeslap Ganz 1866-ban készült portréjával. 2007-ben a TP Technoplus Kft. szponzorálásával egy ugyancsak ehhez a kiállításhoz kapcsolódó füzet jelent meg, amely Ganz beszerezhető összes találmányának pontos, szakszerű fordítását tartalmazza. Szerzője ugyancsak KOVÁCS LÁSZLÓ technikatörténész. TOVÁBBI TEENDŐINK Az Öntödei Múzeum új állandó kiállításának további szegmenseit is szeretnénk kivitelezni. Jelenleg ugyancsak NKA támogatással Az itt felejtett öntöde c. részkiállítás megvalósításán dolgozunk. Jövőre megvalósulhat a fémöntészeti rész, s reményeink szerint a múzeum megnyitásának 40 éves évfordulóján, 2009 szeptemberében egy teljesen megújult, a műemléki öntödében folyó munkát jobban szemléltető, új arculatú, letisztult kiállításokat bemutató, élményszerű elemekkel dúsított szakmúzeumban köszönthetjük látogatóinkat. KATALIN LENGYEL-KISS: RENEWAL OF THE PERMANENT EXHIBITION OF THE FOUNDRY MUSEUM The Foundry Museum, a trade museum brought into being in the foundry of the former Ganz factory, is the first industrial monument of Hungary's capital that closed down as a plant in 1964 and - after reconstruction of the building - reopened its doors as a trade museum in 1969. Its permanent exhibition shows, on the one hand, the equipment of monument character serving the special founding technology developed for iron smelting and casting of railway wheels performed there from mid-19th century on and, on the other, the history of Hungarian iron founding. During the near to 40 years of its existence, the exhibition's installations became obsolete and worn down, its objects and illustration material need renewal. After the plan of the theme had been accepted, the new exhibition's script was prepared. This is composed of 7 parts. The part-exhibitions realize a double aim: on the one hand, the monument foundry as well as the history of Hungarian founding keep being emphasized, on the other - according to the interests of young visitors - the visitor-friendly exhibition operating with interactive methods means a real experience. It mediates a message to the visitors saying how old and many-sided a branch of science founding is by mixing engineering and other special knowledge. The realization of the project started in 2006 with the help of NKA (an institution supporting cultural projects): the commemorative exhibition showing the life and activities of the founder Ábrahám Ganz was opened, and in 2007 the part-exhibition "The forgotten foundry" linked to the equipment under monument protection, is being renewed.
