It was made, with Hungarian inscriptions after Pal Gonczy, in Jan Felkl's workshop in Prague at the end of the 19th century. The object, which might be considered a rarity in Hungarian collections and is very interesting from the aspect of the history of technology as well, shows the structure of our solar system with astonishing accuracy and visualises some of its phenomena. Today the object is property of the Hungarian Museum for Science and Technology. Its restoration was carried out in 2004.
