Fig. 17. Implications of the paracelsian "Triada Prima" The paracelsian iatrochemical revolution extended over the last third of XVIth c. up to the beguinning of the XVIIIth c. bringing about a dramatic change in the traditional aims of scholastic Alchemy. In spite of the inmense volume of literature published on Paracelsus 6 in the last four centuries a lot of renewed attention has been paid to him specially in the last half of the present century as derived from the increasing general interest shown by historians of Science on the subject of the relationships of Alchemy with Medicine, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Metallurgy in connection with "latrochemistry" 106109 . Comparative Overview of the Alchemical Systems To end with the purpose of the present paper which intends to sum up many fundamental aspects and concepts of alchemy by resorting to the use of a new synoptical presentation of the subject a comparative overview of the five most representative alchemical systems have been summarized for comparative purposes in fig.18 taking into account the most characteristic features in each case.
