9. A Zsolnay kerámia. Vezető az állandó kiállításhoz. Pécs. Janus Pannonius Múzeum, 1 980. 20 lapkép. LÁSZLÓ MÓRA: HISTORY OF THE DISCOVERY OF THE EOSIN GLAZE BY WARTHA Vince Wartha (1844-1914), professor at the Technical University Jôzsef in Budapest, exerted widespread activities in a number of fields of chemical technology. His research work in the fields of ceramics was especially successful: he re-discovered, in the 1890s, the Italian lustrine technique of Gubbio fallen into oblivion for over 100 years. His process was improved by the manufacturer Vilmos Zsolnay, and the coloured glaze of metallic shine thus developed was named eosin. By virtue of the eosin ceramics the Zsolnay factory in Pecs became world-famous, and the eosin glaze has been applied by the factory with modern small sculptures till to-date.
