the surrounding European countries. These were reductions by 50% or 25% for the transportation of goods to be exhibited in the Fairs or a free transportation back. Granting the latter, the railway companies hoped that some way or other the exhibits would remain in Budapest (12). Much money was spent on advertising the fairs. The annual posters of the fairs could be seen from Madrid ta Bombay in many big cities. The advertisements in the catalogues of the Budapest International Fair show that this organization gained an international rank. In its catalogues of the mid 1920-s the Budapest International Fair advertised itself by asking the readers not to forget to make their reservation for the next fair in time (13). In the catalogue published in the early 1930-s, other fairs, like the Pozsony (Bratislava), Leipzig, etc., fairs, had their advertisements, too (14).
