GYULA BATÁRI: CHAPTERS FROM THE HISTORY OF HUNGARIAN SCIENTIFIC, INDUSTRIAL AND MEDICAL JOURNAL PUBLICATION IN TRANSSYLVANIA BETWEEN THE TWO WORLD WARS After the first World War, the Trianon peace treaty annexed Transsylvania that up till then had belonged to Hungary to Roumania. Thus about one and a half million Hungarians got under foreign rule in Transsylvania. It was imperative for Hungarians living in Transsylvania to create their specialized press, since under the given conditions it was impossible to procure journals from Hungary. The paper deals with the publishing of Hungarian scientific, industrial and medical journals in Transsylvania in the period between the two World Wars.
