Nevertheless, one can hardly find a number of the journal which did not include any reference to the steam energy, steamships and steam engines, as well, all yielding a revolution in the transportation and communication. The possibility and necessity to build up the Hun­garian railway system was mentioned several times, too. The great part of papers and reports taken from foreign journals published in the „Kémlő" was written by the compiler K. Balla himself, but some well-known contemporary home specialists: János Földi, Lajos Kacskovics, János Udvardy, etc. have also belonged to the redaction of the paper. There were a number of home and foreign correspondents, too. Since the number of subscribers for the paper signifi­cantly decreased by 1837, Balla ceased issuing it due to financial reasons.
