AGNES TOTH: DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNICAL DRAWING The author gives a short account of the history of engineering drawing. She outlines the different methods (many of them forgotten) used in mechanical designs during centuries. These methods in the first part are illustrated by figures from the mediaeval times. The second part deals with the drawing systems used after the industrial revolution. There are some notes on the teaching of drawing in Hungary. The author attempts to find out the aims of the drawers in the given examples. The article emphasises the advantages of the different drawing methods. This way we can understand why the most important methods survived and what are the fields where these types can be used efficiently.
