GYULA BATÁRI: A HUNGARIAN INDUSTRIAL PERIODICAL IN THE 1840's After modest precedents the „MŰIPAR" was the first considerable periodical dealing with industry in Hungary first published on the 1st July 1841. It was edited by Lajos Kacskovics and János Török as the co-publishing of the „Magyar Gazda". In the publication communications were published about the development of the home industry, of new technical inventions, medium and high level industrial-education, generally about the seasonable technical and manufacturing industry-topics. The authors of the articles took a stand on the establishing of independent home agricultural industry and they dealt first of all with the technical problems in agricultural respect. Publications in short from were regularly taken over from German, English and French periodicals giving publications to the newest foreign technical results. The „Műipar" contributed to the forming of the Hungarian technical, industrial language, too. The last, issue No 51 of the periodical merged in „Magyar Gazda" after its appearance.
