Ujmassa Museum : Oven from 1850 restored about the most remarkable stages and the most important technologies of the history of metallurgy. In the middle of the room there is a metallurgical equipment, for its most part still in operation, on show. Research of ancient technology is also demonstrated. In the valley of the picturesque Garadna brook at Ujmassa the only relic of Hungarian metallurgical industry, the Ujmassa blast fournace is presented in its original form. It was founded by Frigyes Fazola in 1813, to give an iron work of high performance, to the intensively developing Hungarian metallurgical industry as part of the Diósgyőr-Hámor iron and steel works, and also to make use of the abundant hydraulic energy of the region. The blast fournace was repeatedly re-built during its use till 1870, when it was closed down to be reconstructed again in 1952, and saved from final decay. It was near to this historical relic of unique value that the managing broad of the Diósgyőr Metallurgical Works had the Massa Museum erected, to show the museum pieces of the Diósgyőr-Hámor Ironworks to all those who, while indulging in the rich gifts of nature, would have an interest for the past of Hungarian technical establishments, too. On the right bank of the Danube separating the two parts of the Hungarian capital Budapest, the Foundry Museum was opened in the autumn of 1969, within the area of an old shut-down foundry, the only one of its kind at present which aroused great interest everywhere.
