Summa ry THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT IN HUNGARY by Ödön Gergely The subject of the article is the development of the Hungarian communications industry from its outset in the second half of the last century to the present. The reader will find a historical review of the development starting with small- scale manufacture employing 8-12 hands and reaching a stage, in these days, of a big-way industry with several thousand workers and engineers. Concurrently, the article is showing a course from the manufacturing of the wooden-case telephone set to the engineering of the broad-band microwave equipment built from several thousand components.
