In part IV we introduce a museum piece vehicle, report on the restauration of the vehicles and engineering structures and publish the activities of our employees and the register of emloyees working for the Museum in the period under consideration. Parti Introduction Dr. András Katonai The Work Of The Museum In The Years 1999-2000. In the introduction of his study the Director-General of the Museum briefly outlines those building extensions, which were absolutely necessary for the up-to-date handling, storing and demonstrating of the collections, which are fortunately increasing in number. The celebration organized on the occasion of the lOOst anniversary of the opening of the Museum took place on the 19th May, 1999. This celebration represented the assignment of the Museum concerning the transporthistorical researches, the training and the collection and demonstration of technical relics. An outstanding event of the celebration was, when the present Director-General and two former Director-Generals placed a vase in the bridge-garden being in opposite of the Museum, which contained medallions, the deed of foundation, the year-book published on the occasion of the lOOst anniversary and other transport documents. In the yearly detailed summaries the Director-General gives account of the exhibition organizing activities in the given year, the results of the scientific work, the increase of collections and the widening of the computer supported registering. The motor vehicle collection increased by a Suzuki Wagon R+, an Audi TT coupé and by an Audi Roadster. He informs about the spending of sums received on the basis of competitions. The close relations with educational institutions and the written and electronic press are treated as an outstanding task on the area of public education. As a result of the great number of periodical exhibitions and of the daily contacts with companies, institutions, schools and universities the number of visitors increased further. On the basis of its accessibility by Internet the Museum formed new connections with the press and provides detailed information on its home page. In his information about the technical tasks the Director-General reports on the exhibition, restauration, operation, renewal and investment activities. As conclusion of the detailed yearly summaries he reports on the fulfilment of the economic tasks and demonstrates the numerical data of the economy of the Museum in tabular form. Part II. The History Of Collections Of The Transport Museum Dr. Erzsébet Molnár. "Catalogue Of The Glass Plates Of The Transport Museum II.". The collection of negatives exceeds 100 000 pieces, of which the glass plates represent only a small amount, but despite of that their culture-historical value is of a great significance. The Museum started to develop its collection of negatives at the end of the 1950s. Till the beginning of the 60s mainly glass plates were taken into inventory, celluloid films were very rear. The majority of the glass plates have been prepared in the 1930s, but unfortunately their definition of theme is incomplete and unreliable, moreover it is uncertain, what is their origin and who prepared them. The catalogue published now contains the glass plates concerning the road traffic and whitin that, the roads, the bridges, the horse-drawn vehicles, the power-driven vehicles, the motorcycles, the bicycles, the busses, the shows, the competitions and the urban traffic. On the first place in the catalogue there are the number of the negative and the theme of the picture, which are followed by a brief expositive text. The date of the picture is given in many cases only approximately, or it is not given at all. Then come the sources of the reproductions or the original pictures - if they are known - and finally the dimensions and the form of the glass plates can be red. 375
