even the Hungarian museums as a result of the international museum crisis. The most striking change was caused by the wave-trough, which could be experienced all over the world. To counterbalance this, the Museum management has to seek for those additional financial resources, which enable to run the Museum despite of decreasing budget. As a result of this a new museum model has been established, which used the exhibition objects and the various services of the Museum for the higher-level entertainment of the public, taking into consideration the stratum demands. All this required the museum work to be reorganized and the collections to be "managed", i.e. demonstration of objects and exhibitions on scientific basis, satisfying extensively the requirements of the public. In the field of the planning of the scientific work the previous five-year plans were replaced by yearly, medium- and long-range périodes. In connection with the collection development the paper reports on the results and deficiencies in the given period concerning the original vehicles, the model collection and the archives enlargement. The scientific work is connected - as before - mainly with the preparation of exhibitions and the writing of scholarly scenarios. But the cultivation of several long-range, comprehensive subjects is systematically continued. The exploration of the connections between the transport and the archeological researches has been stopped, but there are several subjects, which may be regarded as completed and ready for publication. In the field of the methodolgical researches the results of interpretation and application of the representation by pictures are worth to be mentioned. In the library the independent bibliographical research is continuous. In the final part of her paper the Author informs about the publication activities of the researchers. Dr.András Katona - István Lovász: "Selecting The Museum Piece Tramway And Local Railway Vehicle Stock And The Viewpoints Of The Technical Preservation Of Relics". On the basis of the initiation of the Transport Museum in 1972 a contract was signed with the Transport Company of Budapest. According to this contract the original tramway vehicles renewed properly should be exhibited in a skanzen. For this purpose those basic principles had to be established, on the basis of which the preserved vehicle stock of tramways could be made more complete, authentic, more farreaching concerning variety of types and more abundant. Concerning the place of preservation and exhibition of the vehicles and other relics there were two alternatives. One of the alternatives was the tram-depot in the outer Váci street, the other was the Vehicle Shop in Szentendre. Since the tram traffic in the Váci Street had ceased, the tram-depot in the outher Váci Street lost its connection with the tram network, and vehicles selected for exhibition could be transported there by trailers on the road only. Taking this into respect, the Vehicle Shop in Szentendre has been chosen as exhibition place, having an easy access. The renewal of the shop for exhibition purposes has been carried out already. In the final part of the paper the Authors introduces the vehicles exhibited. Sándor Bálint: "The Bus Traffic Of Győr And Its Environs". The Author demonstrates in his paper supplemented by bibliography and foot-notes - the road traffic of the Plain in Northwestern Hungary which had experienced a significant boom after World War n. The paper concentrates mainly to Győr and its environs. In the given time the traffic of the region has been modernized, its road network extended and its bus network was the densest in Hungary with the exception of the county Pest. After World War II a decline had taken place, followed by a spectacular development again. János Hídvégi: "100 Years Of The Hungarian Diesel Motor" The Author starts his paper containing an extraordinary high amount of information with the description of the construction and development of the internal combustion engines and - within this - with the demonstration of the activity of the contemporary inventors, as János Csonka, Donát Bánki and Rudolf Diesel. At the beginning there was a great demand on Diesel motors used for generating electricity, operating transmissions and driving ships, but it took a long time till an engine was developed, which could be fitted into road vehicles.
