The general Kanu (Kuan Yü) with halberd, accompanied by his attendant. Gold ground with gold and silver hira- and takamakie, kuro- and shu-urushi, gold foil, some okibirame. On the other side rugged rock and trees in blossom. 9.2X4.8 cm. End of the 18 th century or early 19 th century. Signature: Mitsunari Kuntachi Nariaki? and kakihan. An inrö of excellent quality. The rendering of the two figures is extremely minute and expressive. 11. Inrö of four cases. (Fig. 11). Lengthy form. Inside orange nashiji. A cock with a chick and a brood hen among flowers, grass and bamboo. Kinji ground with gold nashiji, hira- and takamakie. Aogai inlay, shu- and kuro­urushi. 9X4.9 cm. Signature: Seishunsai and red kakihan. Early 19 th century. A carefully finished inrö with an everyday motif, showing no new development neither in theme nor in technique.
