In connection with the excepted piece — shown in Fig. 1. — we should complete Das Gupta's statements with the viewpoint that the earlier types may continue to live in this period too which is borne out by the unearthed material of excavations. We cannot neglect this viewpoint either, if we want to clarify the problems of chronology and style development of the Indian terracottas.
