Figure 4 : Porcelain box and cover, blue-and-white, with two dragons and a burning ,,treasure globe" in the centre. Two rows of semi-circles on the bottom suggesting lotus leaves. Figure 6 : Inkstone in an identically shaped stone box. Pine tree with two­cranes on the cover. The grey under the yellow surface of the stone represents the background. Mark and period of Ch'ien-lung. Size: 9.5X7.3 cm., height: 1,8 cm. Inventory No. 62.555. 1-3. Figure 7 : Manjusri or Indrani on a lion. Bronze statuette, goddess is gilded and there are inlaid lines of silver on the lion's flank. The representation is not correct in iconographical respect, it is merely a mixture of various ele­ments and was probably made in one of the great seaports of China around 1900. Height: 15,2 cm. Inventory No. 62.554. Figure 8: Chi Pai-shi (1863—1957): Pomegranates (1956). Inscription: Huan Liu chi huan liu ye Huan Pai-shi lao jen hua (translation by Péter Po­lonyi: Dedicated to Liu, . . . painting of Huan, the old Pai-shi). It is un­doubtedly from the last series of the great master. He painted the theme even earlier (see: L. Hájek — A. Hoffmeister, Chinesische Malerei der Gegenwart, Artia, Prague, 1959. illus. 43. Ditto: Pál Miklós, Csi Paj-si, Képzőművészeti Alap, Budapest, 1961. Plate 40: „Sok gyermek, 1948" („Many Children, 1948"). 32,7X99 cm. Inventory No. 62.552. Figure 9 : Vase, Kutan i, painted in red and gold. The centre part of one side of the vase shows the conventional picture of pine-bamboo-plum with crane. On the other side there are six poets under a cherry tree with a small table in the foreground. The decorative painting is done accurately and skill­fully. On the bottom there are six characters written with thin red lines: Hana (?) Kutani Kinyödö. c. 1870. Height: 25 cm. Inventory No. 62.7.
