The characteristics, having appeared on the vessels No. 12 and 13 still become the dominant features on the specimen in question. The most con­spicuous one is the rather schematic decoration. The vessel is less an object for the illustration of hallowed scenes, it is rather a surface to be decorated. In shaping the figures the artist endeavoured to produce a decorative effect instead of reality. The scenes became more rigid, they have lost most of their briskness. The problem of composition may be raised only insofar as the plac­ing of ornamental elements in a square is also composition. The close connection of the figures is not to be found. Also in the design of the attire the decorative elements have become predominant, the peacock feathers of the headdress have gained special emphasis. This belonged to Krisna on the earlier specimens, but here we find it also on Kalhi, the white horse, even on Ganesa. It is worth
