Fig. 11. A part of the Zichy collection THE ART OF MONGOLIA The art of Mongolia was represented by modern objects of industrial art in the memorial exhibition. Thus in the first place objects of attire : caps, coats of leather decorated with impressions, sewed and embroidered boots of leather etc. were exhibited. Besides the artistically decorated costumes a temple-drum, a small bell, a strike-a-light, a saddle decorated with metal fittings, an embroidered capa­rison, bows and other kinds of arms represented the crafts of Mongolia. The Mongolian group is being developed now in our collection. We hope to in­crease this part of our museum by exchanges and eventual donations respec­tively. THE ART OF VIETNAM Vietnam is one of those Far Eastern countries which were represented very modestly in the ground stock of our Museum. The Vietnam collection was augmented during the last years by the ma­terial of a small modern art and industrial art exhibition. We received it as a gift from Vietnam by the way of the Institute of Cultural Connections. The museum plans to enlarge the Vietnamese collection, partly by exchanges, partly by purchases in the following years. From our old material we have shown a very artistic bronze drum from the period of the Dongson culture (third century B. C. — first century A. D.) ;
