CANNONS IN THE WEAPON COLLECTION OF THE MILITARY HISTORY MUSEUM PART II Cannons comprise the most significant part of the Military History Museum's Weapon Collection, concerning both their quantity and their value. All the important „stages" of the development of the artillery are represented in the collection, from the earliest cannon that fired stone balls, to contemporary cannons. In consecutive volumes of the Museum's yearbook, the author introduces this collection. It is reasonable to do so, as hardly any studies have yet been published in Hungarian about this category of guns. The aim of this catalogue is to arouse interest in cannons, often referred to as „the last resort of the kings." GESCHÜTZE IN DER WAFFENSAMMLUNG DES UNGARISCHEN HEERESGESCHICHTLICHEN MUSEUMS 2. TEIL Das Geschützmaterial bildet sowohl in Quantität als auch in Qualität einen bedeutenden Teil der Waffensammlung des Heeresgeschichtlichen Museums. In der Sammlung befindet sich jede „Station" der Entwicklung der Artilleriegeschütze, von den frühesten, noch Steinkugeln herausschießenden Kanonen, bis zu den modernsten Geschützen. Wir haben uns entschlossen unser Geschützmaterial in Fortsetzungen im Museumsbericht vorzustellen. Wir tun dies auch deswegen, da bis jetzt nur gelegentlich Studien über diese Waffenart veröffentlicht wurden. Wir hoffen, dass wir mit unserem Katalog das Interesse am „letzten Argument der Könige" erwecken.
