1899 óta felsorolt koronaértékeknél is 1915-ig mindig ez az arány található. Az 1915 utáni években 1916—1925-ig, a Főváros Statisztikai Hivatala az illetékes pénzügyi hatóságok által megszabott módon értékelte át a papírkorona-értékeket stabil koronaértékekre, melyeket azután a táblázat pengőértékekben fejezett ki. 10 Felmerülhet a kérdés, vajon helyes-e ilyen nagy időtartamot átfogó számsor mediánját kiszámítani. Felfogásom szerint igen, mert bár — ha az adatsort 60 éven túl tovább vezetnők — a médián értéke természetesen megváltoznék, az adott esetben azonban a 60 évet lezárt egésznek kell tekintenünk, melynek sem kezdeti, sem záró évét nem tolhatjuk el. Egy történelmi egész esetében pedig az]idő-mediánok kiszámítása tanulságos eredményhez vezet: a hegytető felé történő menetelésben mintegy a pihenőhelyet jelzik. D. 1934 The treatise, beside publishing some interesting data in connexion with an earlier period — the beginning of the 19th century — is concerned with a sixty years' period of the development of Budapest's economy (1874—1934). However, the data of fifty years are dealt with according to the most important historical changes. The real aim of the treatise is to investigate the characteristic economy of the post-war years 1926—30 and 1931

—34 in contrast to that of 1913, the year prior to the breaking out of World War I. It is intended to prove how much the different means of statistical method help the understanding of the changes in the highly important municipal investment policy. The incomes and expenditures of the capital are placed beside each other in five years' averages; and together, with the ratios of development the different means of relating to the number of population are also used. The object of the remarks following the statistical records is, first of all, to explain and compare the averages; the two groups af data representing the years 1926—30 und 1931

—34 being subject to entirely different economic influances. The author takes the opportunity to criticize the municipal economy of the contemporary income and expenditure department. The treatise aims at full understanding of the changes of municipal economy also by presenting the material of the tables in a diagrammatic form. 598
