Márton András: A Collegium veteranorum újabb kőemléke Aquincumból : feliratos sírkövek és faragott kőemlékek a Bécsi úti temetőből 293-302
MÁRTON ANDRÁS FRAGMENTS OF GRAVE STELE These pieces were either used to cover the hole cut into the cover slab during the grave's despoiling or were found next to the grave (Figs. 11-12). Each piece belongs to a gravestone featuring a tympanum. Date: 2 nd century Based on geologist Dr. Sándor Józsa's pétrographie analysis, all the introduced pieces are made of freshwater limestone. In his opinion - taking into account the most modern mine exploitation - the stone most probably came from the area around Budakalász, where it is readily available on the surface. This strengthens the suggestion that the mines near the Budakalász border - located by István Torma - were probably the most important sources of Aquincum's stone supply 298
