•-r . :•;•::••:•• :;.£"*;"•;;.,.'•:' "íIt is probable, that all the monuments mentioned in this short résumé were in connection with the cult of Isis. In Pannónia, the cult of Isis was not joined to the local cults, as we sometimes find in Moesia, Noricum, Gallia and Germania, but it is true, that in our Province the Roman religion practically supplanted the cult of the natives. We have already mentioned the connection between the Cult of Isis and the pmperor Cult, respectively with other Oriental cults. We cannot prove, that here the cult of Isis assumed the mystery-form, but it seems likely, all the more, as the above mentioned sigillatas entitle us to presume the existence of a »sectarian« community. The sigillatas were made about 160—170 A. D. (K. Kiss, Dissertationes Pannonicae Ser. II. no 10. p 195), the relievo of Székesfehérvár in the first part of the second century : the cult of Isis flourished here from the beginning of the second century till the beginning of the third century, as it is confirmed by the inscriptions CIL III. 3267 and 3479. Later, the cult of Isis was somewhat thrown into the shade by the cult of Mithras, but it was nevertheless maintained, as the mummy-burials from the fourth century prove, whose connection with the Egyptian rites was demonstrated by L. Nagy (o. c. p. 15 and 30). ILLUSTRATIONS Pig. 1 Pig. 2 Fig. 3 Pig. 4 Pig. 5 Pig. 6 Pig. 7 Pig. 8 Fig. 9 Fig. 10 Fig. 11 Fig. 12 Fig. 13 Fig. 14 Fig. 15 Nilotic Scene. Museum of Székesfehérvár.
