A római kori beépítettség kutatása az aquincumi canabae északi előterében (Budai Balogh Tibor)

6. kép: Mécsöntő minta Fig. 6: ( )il lump mould szctfalak megmutatták, hogy a római kori kultúrszint a Szentendrei út síkjához képest hozzávetőleg 0,7 méter mélységben jelentkezik, néhány méterrel keletebbre pedig, már csak 0,5 méter választotta el az úttesttől. A házalapban, valamint az út másik oldalán végzett hadik utcai ásatás során mért szintadatok egyértelműen természetes kiemelkedésre, egv domb jelenlétére utalnak. (Az említett, Ladik utcai temető feltárásakor egv kiterjedt szakaszon sikerült rekonstruálnunk az egykori felszínt. Ld. e kötetben.) A közműárok négy kiszedett falat vágott át, közülük kettő esetében biztosan megállapítható volt, hogv lefelé kőfalként foktatodnak. Az egyik mellett lemélyültünk az alapozás aljáig. A fal alatt római kori szemetesgödröt találtunk, tartalmában egv szokatlanul nagy méretű, de erősen hiányos, világosszürke színű Faltenbecherrel. Az egykori kelet-nyugati tájoláséi kőfalakon kívül a metszetfal több, tönkrement és megújított padlószint létezéséről is tanúskodott. Szerény mennyiségben freskódarabokat is megőrzött az egyébként preserved high-quality, pink terrazzo floor and the intact tegula remains that composed the roof of the building and which fell onto the northern side of the building as the building started to fall apart. A large number of fresco fragments in diverse colours were found here. It is a pity that the building was destroyed during the modern construction work and could not be properly recovered. The loss is the greater since the eastern continuation had already been destroyed during the foundation work of the stone building raised in the IS"' century. On the western side of Szentendrei Road, the lav ing of public utilities started in August, and, at the same time, the construction of the curving road leading to the over-ground parking lot for the store began. The trench running in a north-south direction (trench 'A') for the public utilities was dug without being reported to the museum, thus, it was not possible to more than but rescue what remained. The section walls revealed that the culture-hearing level from the Roman period appeared at a depth of about 0.7 m
