Aqfüz 9 (2003) 86-94. two-tiered settlement hierarchy (the appearance of larger fortified settlements and smaller not fortified settlements), which developed side by side as part of the economic and social evolution of the period (REMÉNYI 2003). Finds from the Koszider horizon are already present in the collection of the Budapest Historical Museum from the Zugló although th exact location of the find spots is unknown (TOMPA 1945). An adze with a discoid neck (MOZSOLICS 1967, Taf. 55, 3) and a long tanged dagger made from bronze together with a pot with a knobbed rim can be dated from the Koszider horizon. A few kilometres higher along the Rákos stream, three graves from a Koszider cemetery were uncovered (KŐSZEGI 1984). Compared to the settlement fragment unearthed last year on the southern side of the Rákos Stream mostly containing features from the Imperial period, only a single pit can be dated from this period on this later surface. Onlv three pits contained Avar materials from the Migration Period. They contain fragments of hand-thrown vessels and ones made on slow wheels and decorated with bunches of lines.
