Kora római védmű és késő avar kori telep kutatása a canabae északi előterében (Budapest, 111. ker., Filatorigát, Hrsz.: 19244) Investigations of early Roman defence works and a Late Avar settlement in the northern outskirts of the canabae (Budapest III, Filatorigát, Ln: 19244) A Szentendrei út és a Bogdáni út sarkán lévő benzinkút, illetve a Bogdáni úti buszpályaudvar közötti beépítetlen részen, az egykori IIEV megálló, majd TÜZÉP telep' területén a BAU MAX cég már korábban barkáesáruház építését határozta el. Minthogy a szóban forgó terület az aquaeductus és a canabae északi temetője közé eső részen fekszik, régészeti szempontból különösen nagy érdeklődésre tartott számot. 1997-ben szondázó jellegű feltárás történt, (ZSIDI 1998, 65-71) amelyet az építési terv megváltozása, a lemezes házalap mélyebbre helyezése miatt 1999-ben és 2000-ben a leendő áruház csaknem teljes területére kiterjedően megelőző feltárás követett. (ZSIDI 2000, 62-75; ZSIDI 2001, 59-67) (1. kép) A korábbi ásatások kutatatlanul hagytak egy hozzávetőleg 80 m hosszú, és változó, 17-20 méter széles sávot a Rádl-ároktól délre és keletre, részben a beruházó építési szándékának megingása miatt, részben pedig azért, mert az említett terület teljes egészében a hajdani HÉV megállóhoz tartozó újkori feltöltésnek tűnt. Három év elteltével a beruházó mégis az építkezés megkezdése mellett döntött, ily módon az Aquincumi Múzeum számára is lehetőség nyílott a még érintetlen sáv átkutatására, amelyről közben kiderült, hogy csak elThe BAUMAX firm decided to construct a DIY store in the territory of the former HÉV station, and later TÜZÉP site, m the vacant area between the petrol station on the corner of Szentendrei Road and Bogdáni Road and the bus station on Bogdáni Road. As this area lies between the aquaeductus and the northern cemetery of the canabae, it seemed to be especially promising from an archaeological aspect. In 1997, a test excavation was conducted in the territory (ZSIDI 1998, 65-71). In 1999 and 2000, the excavations preceding the construction encompassed nearly the entire territory of the future store because changes had been made in the construction plans and the laminated house foundation would be sunk deeper than had been planned previously (ZSIDI 2000, 62-75; ZSIDI 2001, 59-67). (Fig. 1) The former excavations left unexplored an approximately 80 m long and a, more-or-less, 17-20 m wide zone south and east of the Rádl trench, because the construction intentions of the investors vacilated and the territory seemed to be a modern fill connected with the former IIEV station. After three years, the investor decided to start the construction work after all, so an opportunity for the Aquincum Museum to investigate the intact zone presented itself. In the meantime,
