Szondázás a Bécsi úti temető északi részén (Facsády Annamária)

nyok és a temetkezés szintjének tisztázására. Az északi, 1. szelvényben kövesmárgás talajban mélyítettünk, régészeti jelenség nélkül. A Bécsi út és a meglévő távírócsatorna között kialakított 2. szelvényben többszöri tereprendezés eredményeképpen létrejött több méteres újkori feltöltés alatt sötétbarna római rétegre bukkantunk, melynek felső rétegét Kr. u. 4. századi érmek keltezik. A sötétbarna réteg alsó részében hamvasztásos sírt bontottunk ki. Az észak-déli irányú sír oldala vastagon átégett, délnyugati sarkát egv későbbi beásás elbontotta. A kevés kalcinált csontot tartalmazó sír melléklete három egvfülű nyersszínű korsó, mécses és bronzfibula (I. kép) volt. Since we could not observe archaeological features at the depth the construction work will reach, we opened two trenches to clarify the layer sequence and the level of the burials. In trench 1 we dug down into a stony-marly soil without encountering any archaeological features. In trench 2, opened between Bécsi Road and an existing remote heating channel, a several meters thick modern fill was accumulated as a consequence of repeated landscaping work in modern times. Underneath, we found a dark brown laver from the Roman period, the upper part of which was dated by coins to the AD 4"' century. A cremation burial was unearthed in the lower part of the dark brown laver. The side of the north-south oriented grave was heavily burned. Its southwestern corner was destroyed by a later pit. The grave contained a few charred bones, three one-handled rawcolored jugs, an oil lamp and a bronze brooch. (Fig. 1) There
