11. Római kori kutatások Albertfalván (Szirmai Krisztina)

Értékelés Az 1999-ben feltárt jelenségek egy új katonai táborra utaló nyomokat mutattak Albertfalván. (SZIRMAI 2000) Az északkeletdélnyugat irányú vizesároktól keletre 2001-ben, a tábor belső szerkezetére utaló régészeti adatok már nem kerültek elő a helyi adottságok miatt (lásd 1. pontot). A vizes árkoktól nyugatra sem kerültek elő a tábor belső szerkezetére utaló nyomok, itt további árokszakaszok, gerendanyomok kerültek napvilágra. Tény az is, hogy a vicus további épületeinek nyomait itt már nem találtuk meg 1999ben, sőt idén sem, tehát településen kívüli területről van szó. (SZIRMAI 1995) A területen - topográfiailag - és az árkok védmű jellegzetességei miatt sem zárható ki - a 2001. évi kutatások szerint sem - az újabb katonai tábor nyomainak jelenléte. (SZIRMAI 2000) E katonai objektum csaknem teljesen megsemmisülhetett, csak a védművek maradványai kerültek felszínre. Az észak-déli irányú árkok esetleg víztelenítés funkcióját látták el ezen a magasabb mocsaras területen. Az előkerült különböző irányú és hosszúságú árkok egy katonai gyakorlótér jelenlétét is igazolhatják, ahol a katonák árokásással is ismerked- southwest oriented ditches and the plank construction unearthed along a length of 155 m. A 50 m long stretch of these ditches had already been brought to light in 1999 (SZIRMAI 2000). The later phase is represented by the north-south oriented ditches, because the northsouth oriented ditch intersects the older northeast - southwest oriented ditches (surfaces 1/7, 14-16). The branches and ditch sections forking from the northeast - southwest oriented ditches and the traces of timbers and probably also the stretches of ditches and timber traces that are not directly linked to the northeast southwest oriented ditches were probably established in the later phase as well. We do not know from what surface the wells were sunk, but we found a well this year too, that was built over the former wide northeast - southwest oriented water ditch (surface 1/2). The same phenomenon could be observed in 1999 in Albertfalva (SZIRMAI 2000, 86-87). The stratigraphical analysis reveals that the hearth, the firing space and the oven traces, the soleshaped foundations and even the three horse graves come from to the later phase (features 730, 820 and see also surface 1/14).
