Utóbbiak a temető korai periódusából valók, ami egyértelmű például egy 2. szá3. kép: Helyben hamvasztott halott sírja (bustum), Budapest, III. ker., Bécsi út 62., 6. objektum Fig. 3.: Grave of a locally cremated person (bustum), Budapest III, 62 Bécsi Road, feature no. 6 Scattered ash cremation burial is the rite most characteristic of this fragment of cemetery. In one case, the deceased was cremated at the grave site (bustum). (Fig.l.: 6 and Fig. 3.) Most of the 10 inhumation burials contained the skeletons of children. The dominant orientation was north-south or approximately north-south. Two graves diverge significantly from it with west-east and east-west orientations respectively. (TOPÁL 1993, 105.; LÁNYI 1972, 63.) These odd burials came from the early phase of the cemetery, which is unquestionably true as well for a child's burial dated from the 2 nd century, whose grave lay under the wall of the graveyard. (Fig.l.: 11) Thus, the graves in this zone come from the 2 nd century, and none was found from an earlier period. This was the time when the above mentioned graveyards were created. (Fig. 1.: 6, 7, 8) One of these graveyards was especially rich in grave goods. (Fig. 1.: 7) A fortification wall with a similarly round ground plan has been found more to the south in the cemetery running along Bécsi Road. (FACSÁDY 1999, 279) In our case, the wall, which was covered with roof tiles and flat stone slabs, enclosed two cremation burials with scattered ashes. The ashes were thrown into a
