Végül a 2000. év legjelentősebb eredményét szükséges említenem, ami bár nem érinti közvetlenül a régészeti feltárásokat, azonban mindenképpen összefügg a feltárások nyomán gyarapodó gyűjteményi anyag raktározásával, a múzeumi infrastruktúra, a munkakörülmények javulásával. A Károlyi Palotából kikerült őskori, római kori és népvándorlás kori gyűjtemény, valamint a dokumentációs gyűjtemények új, korszerű múzeumépületbe kerültek. Az Aquincumi Múzeum területén, a polgárváros helyreállított, összefüggő romkertjének közelében felépített háromszintes raktár átadása az 1894-ben létesített múzeum eddigi történetének egyik legfontosabb állomását jelenti. From now on, however, reports on the prehistory and Migration Period research in the capital will be published in independent articles. The new editorial concept fits the demands of the modem environmental approach of archaeology better, especially since, in most cases, finds of various periods appear together at these sites. Finally, I must mention the most important accomplishment of the year 2000, which does not directly involve archaeological excavation, but is certainly relevant to the deposition of the growing collection material, and the development of the museum's infrastructure and working conditions. The prehistoric, Roman and Migration period collections and also the documentation collections, formerly held in the Károlyi Palace in central downtown Budapest, were rehoused in a modern, new building. The inauguration of the three-storey depot building established near the reconstructed, contiguous ruin garden of the Civil Town within the territory of the Aquincum Museum marks the most important stage in the development at the museum since its foundation in 1894.
