Traces of some, mainly village settlements and scattered fragments of cemeteries, can also be found on Csepel Island and on the Pest side of Budapest. (HANNY 1992, 241-276.) The Celtic houses unearthed on these sites were sunken houses, different from the post-structure constructions of earlier periods. E>ue to the erosion of the surface, the contemporary floor levels and the outer structural units could not be observed. Building 2133 had an approximately oblong-shape and was oriented in a northeast - southwestern direction. It probably lacked vertical walls, being covered with tent roof. The roof structure was supported by three posts planted along the longitudinal axis of the house. The entrance was in the northeastern corner. The house had no oven. The ashy fill mixed with charcoal suggests that the house burnt down. Building no. 1549 was quadrangular and only 20 cm deep. The post holes were dug along the east-west axis of the building, the entrance was on the southern side. There were no traces of an oven, so that it could have functioned as a storage space.
