ered the second walking level which contained archaeological finds since it may have been an abandoned stratum or a destruction layer. In addition to these phenomena a pit was discovered which, unfortunately, had been partially disturbed by modern fill. In summary: no interesting part of the Celtic settlement was recovered during the course of these test excavations which would justify the large surface archaeological operations planned here. Archaeological investigations on the southern slope of Gellért hill were thus finished. Patrice Bertin
