2. Előzetes jelentés a budaújlaki temető leletmentő ásatásáról (Patrice Bertin)

A harmadik periódust egyetlen objektum képviseli (az alaprajzon „B"), melynek funkciója egyelőre ismeretlen és a Bécsi úthoz közel fekszik. Anyaga a 3. század második felére datálható egy antoninianus és a kísérő leletek alapján. Tűzvész áldozatává lett, de hogy szándékosan gyújtották-e föl vagy baleset volt, azt nem lehet eldönteni, mivel nem áshattuk ki a teljes objektumot. Ez is részben a feltárandó területen kívülre esett. Ez a lelőhely egyetlen olyan objektuma, melyet a 3. században használtak (a leletanyag feldolgozásának jelenlegi állapotában). Végül a negyedik fázisba a 3. század végén induló temető tartozik, melynek három szarkofágját és több sírkertjét tártuk föl. Mindegyik sírkert a via publica közelében fekszik, a város külső oldalán, ahogy az szokásos. A szarkofágok kicsit távolabb voltak. Kettőt közülük kiraboltak, csak a harmadik volt ép (az alaprajzon „C"). Ez egy 165 cm magas férfi sírja volt, aki ezüstveretes öve, kardja, ezüst, kereszt alakú fibulája, tintatartója és két üvegedénye alapján fontos személy lehetett. A mellé adott pénz 310 utáni temetést jelez. Meg kell jegyezni, hogy ugyanezen a részen, a temető kialakítása előtti időszakból is származnak településnyomok, melyek fukciója a leThe third phase is represented by a single feature (marked by "B" on the site map) located near Bécsi Street. For the time being, its function remains unknown. Artifactual material from this feature may be dated to the second half of the 3rd century on the basis of an antoninianus coin and associated finds. This feature was destroyed by fire. Since, however, the feature could not be completely excavated, it is impossible to decide whether it had been set ablaze on purpose or had burned down by accident. Part of this feature also fell outside the investigated area. On the basis of results obtained during the preliminary analysis of the find material, this is the only feature at the site which continued in use even during the 3rd century. Finally, a cemetery which came into use at the end of the 3rd century belongs to the fourth phase. Several sarcophagi and grave gardens were excavated here. As was customary, all grave gardens were located near the via publica, at the edge of town. The sarcophagi were located at some distance from them. Two of them had been robbed, only the third was preserved intact (marked by "C" on the site map).
