7. Római épület az aquincumi polgárváros déli városfalán kívül, 1993-94. évi feltárás /Zsidi Paula/

Római épület az aquincumi polgárváros déli városfalán kívül Az Aqumcumi Múzeumot körülvevő romterület déli részén (Budapest, ni. kerület Szentendrei út 139.) - melyet évtizedeken keresztül katonai lőtérként használtak - egy meglévő modern épület kibővítésére került sor még 1993-ban. A restaurátor műhelynek kialakítandó és raktározási célokat szolgáló új épületszárny alapozása a városfalon kívüli területre esett, melyet a szakirodalom (SZILÁGYI J. jelentése a Budapest Régiségei XV (1950) 308. old.) alapján a római korban beépítetlen területként tartottunk számon. A jelentés szerint 1944-47-ben a polgárvárosnak a déli városfalon kívül előkerült un. deversorium épületétől keletre nem volt épület, s a jelentést kiegészítő rajzon is üresen maradt ez a hely. Az új épület alapozásának megkezdésekor azonban meglepetés ért bennünket: a városfalat kísérő vizesárkon kívül, melynek előkerülésével számoltunk, egy eddig ismeretlen, valószínűleg a deversorium épületével kapcsolatba hozható beépített terület került elő. A déli városfal szerkezetének ezen az újabb szakaszán a már korábbiakban is megfigyelt jelenségeket rögzíthettük. Előkerült a kőalapozású városfal építését megelőző korai vizesárok, A Roman building outside the Southern city wall of the Aquincum Civil town During 1993, a modern building was expanded in the southern section of the area where Roman ruins had been restored around the Aquincum Museum (Budapest, district III, Szentendrei Street 139). The foundations of this new wing, designed to house an archaeological restoration laboratory as well as storage facilities fell within an area outside the Roman city wall. This area had been considered uninhabited during the Roman Period (report by SZILÁGYI J. in Budapest Régiségei XV (1950) p. 308). According to this report, during the 1944-1947 excavation seasons no buildings were discovered east of the Civil town's deversorium building located outside the city wall. This area was left blank even in the site plan attached to the site report. Phenomena observed previously could also be documented in this newly discovered section of the southern city wall. The moat preceding the city wall with its stone foundations has also been found together with a subsequent ditch that was dug into the fill of the moat.
