Római kori beépítettség kutatása az aquincumi katonaváros északnyugati határán A Hunor utca - Hévízi út - Kunigunda utca által határolt területen, az itt épülő lakópark alapozási munkálatai előtt végeztünk előzetes régészeti feltárást. A kutatás célja az aqu17. kép Investigations concerning Roman Period settlement density along the northwestern border of the Aquincum military town Preliminary archaeological excavations were carried out in the area bordered by Hunor, Hévíz and Kunigunda Streets prior to laying the foundations of an apartment complex there. The aims of this research included locating the northwestern border of the Aquincum Military town and estimating Roman Period settlement density in the area. During the course of excavations it became apparent that the border in question may largely have run below today's Hévíz Street, that is, the excavated area lay within military territory but outside the Military town, north of the town's edge (Figure 17). The western part of this area was located higher up and was inhabited. The eastern area must have been agricultural land but became marhsy once Roman river regulation and drainage works were abandoned.
