CCCXXXIII SZÁM. 137 ARTICLE ni. The ports and towns of Yokohama (in the district of Kanagawa) Hiogo, Osaka, Nagasaki, Niigata, Ebisuminato on the island of Sado. Hakodate and the city of Tokey (Yedo) shall from the day on which this Treaty comes into operation, be opened to the citizens of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and to their trade. In the above ports and towns Austro-Hungarian citizens may permanently reside ; they shall have the right, therein to lease land, to purchase houses and erect dwellings and warehouses. The place, where Austro-Hungarian citizens shall reside and where they shall erect their buIIdings, shall be determined on by the Imperial and Royal Consular Officiers in conjunction with the competent local authorities ; the harbour-regulations shall be arranged in a simular manner. If the Imperial and Royal Consular-Officer and the Japanese Authorities cannot agree, the matter shall be submitted to the diplomatic Agent and the Japanese Gouvernment. No wall, fence or gate shall be erected by the Japanese, around the place where Austro-Hungarian citizens reside, and nothing shall be done there which may prevent free egress or ingress. Austro-Hungarian citizens shall be free to go where they please within the following limits. At Yokohama (in the district of Kanagawa) to the river Rokugo and ten Ri in any other direction. At Hiogo in the direction of Kioto as far as ten Ri from that city and ten Ri in any other direction ; At Osaka, on the South from the mouth of the Yamatogawa to Funabashimura and from the latter place within the limits of a line drawn from there trough Kiokojimura to Sada ; the town of Sakai lies outside these limits, but Austro-Hungarian citizens shall be allowed to visit it ; At Nagasaki into any parth of the Nagasaki District ; At Niigata and Hakodate ten Ri in any direction ; At Ebisuminato throughout the whole island of Sado ; At Tokei (Yedo) within the following boundaries : from the mouth of the Shintonegawa to KanaFŐBBNDI IROMÁNYOK 1871. A következő kikötök és városok : Yokohama (Kahagawa kerületében), Hiogo, Osaka, Nagasaki, Niigata, Ebisuminato Sado szigetén, Hakodeta va« lamint Tokei (Yedo) városa jelen szerződés életbelépte napjával az osztrák-magyar monarchia alattvalói és kereskedelme számára megnyílnak. Az emiitett kikötök és városokban az osztrákmagyar alattvalók állandóan lakhatnak és ugyanott földbirtokot haszonbérelhetnék, házakat vehetnek, valamint lakásokat és raktárakat építhetnek. A hely, melyen osztrák-magyar alattvalók lakhatnak és házakat építhetnek, a cs. és kir. c©nsuli hivatalnokok által az IIletékes helybeli hatósággal egyetértőleg jelölendő ki : hasonló módon állapitandók meg a kikötői rendszabályok is. Ha a cs. és kir. consuli hivatalnok és japáni hatóságok e részben meg nem egyezhetnének, a kérdés a diplomatiai ügyvivő és a japáni kormány elé terjesztendő. A japániak azon helyeket; hol osztrák-magyar alattvalók megtelepednek, sem fallal, sem sövénynyel vagy korlátokkal el nem keritendik s semmi olyasmit tenni nem fognak, mi által a szabad be- és kijárás akadályoztathatnék. Az osztrák-magyar alattvalók szabadon mozoghatnak a következő határok között: Yokohamától (Kanagawa kerületben) a Rokugo folyóig és minden más irányban 10 Ri távolságra Hiogotól Kioto felé ezen várostól 10 Ri távolságra és minden más irányban 10 Ri távolságra; Osakától délre a Yamatogawa torkolatától Funabashimuráig és innét egy az ezen helytől Kiokojimurán keresztül Sadáig vont vonalon belül ; Sakai városa ezen határokon kivül fekszik ugyan, meglátogatása azonban az osztrák-magyar alattvalóknak meg van engedve. Nagasakitól minden részébe a nagasaki kerületnek. Niigata és Hakodatetól minden irányban 10 Ri távolságra. Ebisuminátotól Szádó szigete minden részébe ; Tökeitől (Yedo) a következő határokon belül : a Shintonegaiva torkolatától Kanamashiig és a 18
