FŐBB EREDMÉNYEK

In 1980, 65 percent of lone persons could use gas in their dwellings. Their share was already 80 percent ten years later, while it is 86 percent in the spring of 1996. At the same time, 90 percent of all households occupy dwellings with gas. The composition of the dwellings of lone persons by amenities available, has been gradually improving since 1990. In six years, the share of those living in dwellings with full and with principal amenities has grown by more than 6 and by 4 percentage points, respectively. Within all households, the improvement is slightly more considerable (8 percentage points) in the case of those living in flats with all amenities (full comfort). Examining dwellings with all and with principal amenities together, however, the housing conditions of lone persons show greater improvement (10 percentage points) than that of all households (8 percentage points). This latter statement is supported alsó by the fact that the share of lone persons living in dwellings without comfort or in other lodgings or emergency accomodations has diminished by 8 percentage points in the same period, while the respective decrease was only 5 percentage points within all households. At present, the share of lone persons living in dwellings with full amenities or with principal amenities is 33 and 35 percent, respectively. Within all households, the relevant proportions are 48 and 31 percent. 26.5 percent of lone persons and 17 percent of all households live in dwellings without comfort or in other lodgings oremergency accomodations. 16
