Seres András: Aranyak, márványok, arányok: a gödöllői királyi kastély épületében lévő Mária Terézia-szobák műmárvány és aranyozott gipszstukkó munkáinak restaurálása

GOLD, MARBLE AND PROPORTIONS THE RESTORATION OF FAKE MARBLE AND GILDED PLASTER STUCCO DECORATION OF THE MARIA THERESIA ROOM IN THE ROYAL CASTLE IN GÖDÖLLŐ Abstract: In 1996, a group of conservators directed by the author was entrusted with the restoration work of the ruined Maria Theresia Room of the Grassalkovich Castle in Gödöllő. Following preliminary research that had revealed more recent alterations in the design, the project was aimed at the possibly most authentic restoration of the room’s original state. The restoration process consisted of cleaning, the replacement of marble layers that had fallen off the wall by injecting adhesives, the reparation and reconstruction of marble, stucco reparation and gilding. Following restoration, this room became one of the few parts in the Castle that could be preserved in its original state. Szerző címe/Author’s address: Seres András restaurátorművész/conservator M.
